Before this place was a great to take the family. Lately food quality gone to the trash. Yesterday my beef enchiladas tasted gross. Meat was burn, the tortillas, rice and beans tasted like paper. They need to improve a lot.

If traditional Mexican made fresh is your thing this is your place. They are preparing to move to a new, larger, more modern location so that will improve the experience. The seating is tight for my liking at the current location. I'm not a fan of Mexican food but my family is so we have been several occasions. Each time the food has been fresh, was made to order and tasted as if it was made with Care. The serving staff is pleasant as well and generally very attentive to your table. If Mexican is your go to this is a spot to give a chance.

Tried their chicken and beef fajitas. Not bad..got the "medium" size & it actually was enough for 2 people. Only issue was that I didn't have enough sour cream 🫢. But the waitress/cashier was very nice. I would go again … More

“Absolutely delicious! I had the breakfast burrito plate with queso, and everything was amazing. The salsa was especially incredible — full of flavor and fresh tasting. The service and food were both great, and we’ll definitely be coming back. Honestly better than Taquerias Arandas!”

Great service and good food. The lunch menu Beef fajita plate with a crunchy ground beef taco and a cheese enchilada with refried beans and rice was pretty good. The only problem I had with it was portion size... there was 3 small pieces of beef fajita on the plate, the cheese enchilada was good, but not great. My wife enjoyed her tortilla soup but it wasn't her favorite, there was an upcharge for chicken. 4 stars.

Hands down the BEST chicken chimichangas I’ve ever eaten. The amount of flavor in every bite is insane! The beans and rice are the run-of-the-mill taste, but the main part is always perfection. My boyfriend was a bit disappointed with their barbacoa (it’s his favorite meat in Mexican cuisine) but said it was bland so he hasn’t ordered it again since our first visit. He loves the famous burritos though! We can’t wait to go back many more times, the food and service is wonderful and we never have to wait to sit!

Spontaneously stopped by here on our last day in Houston and the food was SO good and delicious and affordable. Their beans are now made lard free and they were extremely accommodating for vegetarians. I highly recommend checking this place out! We got the spinach and cheese enchiladas, vegetable enchiladas and the vegetable taco. The tortilla was delicious: I suspect it's handmade

The service was good! However, we ordered a small queso & the menu reads like dips come with jalapeños. When the queso came, there was no jalapeños. We asked for some & they charged a dollar. I understand charging for à la carte items but the menu is read to imply that jalapeños would be included, plus that’s the norm for a lot of places. I didn’t argue but things like this are what loses customers, nickel & diming when there’s a lot of competition in the area. The beans were flavorful but the rice was pretty plain. I like that it’s affordable & the service was good. I probably wouldn’t return because of the jalapeños & the fact it was warm inside, like there was no AC.

This is what I love about family run local eateries. Everyone here were having lunch but I wanted breakfast today. They gave me a lunch menu but I pulled up the breakfast menu by their QR code. Without a refusal or a word they brought my my Migas, hot, fresh, and yummy as always! I can see why they are popular. More

I was welcomed as soon as a I arrived and told to sit anywhere. There were booth and table options. The menu looked very authentic, but the food appeared and tasted a little more Tex Mex, though it could be authentic to a different part of Mexico than what I’m used to in the Houston area.
The chips were good and had a good amount of crunch, texture, and salt content. The salsa was very mild (safe for everyone), but had good flavor.
I ordered the beef chile relleno and it was a unique take on what I’m used to, though I wasn’t mad at it. The batter held together very well and seemed like it had more egg than flour. There was a lot of cheese on it (also not bad) and the ground beef inside had the shape and texture of a smash burger (not really ground, but held together on flat burger like chunks). The flavor of the meat was 10/10 though. The ranchero sauce was pretty good; not overly or underly flavored allowing for the other flavors to break through. Overall flavor and texture of the chile relleno was 10/10, so I highly recommend.
The beans tasted like they were made with love and intentionality. The rice was a standard Mexican rice, though the tomato flavor could’ve come through just a little more for my liking and maybe a little lemon could’ve helped draw out those flavors.
I ordered a coffee and it came in a to-go cup which seemed thoughtful so I can take it with me. Coffee tasted pretty good.
Overall, the food and experience were great.
I almost gave 4 stars on the food because the queso was kind of unusual (though strong in flavor) and the rice lacked a little flavor. If you LOVE the strong flavor of cheese (think Kraft singles plus a little sharp cheddar), the queso would probably be a solid win for you.
